The understated and underrated Mitsubishi 9000 standard writing pencil, officially designated for 'General Writing'.
This gorgeous green pencil has terrific point retention.
In the first half of the 20th century, Japanese pencils were labeled with their intended use because of regulations set to monitor the prices pencils were being sold for. Pencils designated for certain uses were meant to have certain characteristics and qualities that were consistent with other brands and reflected in their price. Though this isn't used anymore, the inclusion of the designations is still included in most pencil designs.
